Discrimination Art - Term 2

"Doesn't matter if we're black or white, we're, ALL human" Hello, my name is, Neru and Today I will be sharing with you on what we did for our Discrimination Art. So I hope you all enjoy.

A couple days ago we read stories about racial discrimination, we then got told we had to either, make a logo or a slogan, we then print out a picture of us then put it next to our, slogan/logo, then coloured it in.

We also had to put a racial discrimination story or a, quote. Then were finished.

What I did for art though was, I did a logo (It was a white hand hold a black hand while the globe was in the background) i also did picture of me next to the logo, then put in a quote (The quote I did is at the start) I cut out my photo, stuck it to my coloured paper, but I haven't finished yet.

But, we also learnt many good quotes about racism, we looked at many stories about and we were pretty mad about it. How a teacher acts like to a brown student. Here's one.

"My teacher came up to me and said "You have a lot of potential you know? You are pretty smart than the others" I said: "Thanks" then she added: "You pretty smart for a, brown girl"

Making racial jokes is, not a laughing matter, if you ever hear someone make a joke, make sure to tell them to stop, tell them why that's bad, and do something about it.

What did, YOU do for discrimination art?

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed on what we/I did for, discrimination art.

PEACE!

How can we speak up against, discrimination? - Term 2

"Don't judge a book by it's cover" Hello my name is, Neru and welcome to my blog. For this post I will talking about, this terms, 'driving question' "How can we speak up against, discrimination. So I hope you all enjoy.

As you know from the start, this driving question is, "How can we speak up against discrimination" For people who don't know what discrimination is, it's, Judging/treating others unfairly because, where their from, their gender or, because their ability to do things. We have to speak up to stop it.

As part of our PBL we also have some sub questions. Here is a list below.

Racism.
If someone makes a offensive joke, don't laugh at it, don't join them on making the joke. Tell them to stop, tell what they just said called change someone. Don't encourage them on making it again. Just walk away.

Sexism.
Sports play a major role in sexism, if you are playing soccer don't leave a girl/boy out because of their gender, it doesn't matter if they're a girl, it doesn't matter if "It's a boy game" Let them play. Did you know: Women get paid less then boys? Did you know: Some people don't let women be a cop or builder? This is what is changing the community.

Ableism.
If you see someone disabled don't treat them like their kids, don't treat them like their not human, treat them like how you would treat your friends, ask them some questions like how you would ask someone else. Don't leave them out, JUST because what they do. Treat them like human.

Have YOU, been racist? Have YOU, been discriminated against? What would YOU, do if you saw/heard someone being discriminated against? How would, YOU speak up against it?

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy about what out driving question was for this term, I hoped you all enjoyed!

PEACE!

Art

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! Today, I will be sharing with you guys, about what we did for Art on, Thursday (April 11) So, sit back, relax and enjoy!

As you saw from above we were doing art on Thursday. Basically, there was 4 rotations of different, Art spaces: Cartoon, Pixel, Manga and, Bunnies. Each Home bases started in a different space, we started in, Cartoon.

For, cartoon. We used our chrome books and clicked us on a linked that brought us to a video on how to draw a cartoon character, but we could've picked another cartoon character to draw. I picked papyrus, a character from, UNDERTALE.

Next was, Pixel, we went on a site called, Pixilart. Before we did anything though, on the whiteboard, there was a, few, drawings we had to draw first. There was many of them: Pikachu, pizza slice, Mario, love heart face, sun glasses face, toothless, a banana and a, love heart (I think that's all of them) We we finished the pixel art, we got to search a pixel art up, and did it

Next was, Manga. We drew anime.

Finally, Bunnies. For bunnies we got handed a paper bunny with lines all over, we had to make patterns using only black and white. Once we finished, we had to cut him out, glue him to a card, then put some colourful glasses on him.

My favourite though, was, cartoon.I really hope you guys enjoyed what we did for, Art. I will be making more posts in the future.

What was, YOUR, favourite art?

PEACE!

Values

Hello everybody, and welcome back to my blog! Today, I am going to be sharing you our, School Values. So, sit back, relax, and, enjoy.

First of all, I will tell you, what the School Values are. We have: Respect, Compassion, Service, and Integrity. This year, our principle, Mrs. Earl has decided to change the ways our, certificates are given to us. Instead of getting a certificate that says, "Neru Collins, for showing PATIENCE" we will get a certificate, IF, we are showing the school values.

If you would like to know more about our school values, visit: [St. Francis values]

What values do, YOU, show?

Thank you for reading about our, School Values. I will be making more posts in the future, PEACE!!!!!!

Digi-awards

Hello, everybody! And, welcome... back to my blog! Today, I am going to be sharing with you my, Digi-awards! So, sit back, relax, and enjoy my blog post.

In W8. We got introduced to Digi-awards. Basically, we had to work with a buddy to make an: Animation, or stop motion, or even a scratch project, to explain; 'What, Greatness is.'

First, of course, we had to start with our planning. So we had to plan for the, Transition. We had to plan for the, script, etc, etc. You get the point. THEN! We started working on our project.

When, me and, Leo first started our Digi-awards, we were going to do a google sheet drawing, BUT THEN, I realised... "Dis iz gunna take 4evr" so we decided that we are going to do a....

STOP MOTION

Basically, our stop motion is about: A short guy who walks up to a tall guy, and asks what greatness is.

Tall guy then replies, and explains... what greatness is.

This was a, LOAD, of FUN to do. Trying our best to succeed. Trying to make it gud. It was just a heap of fun!
I really hope you, ALL, enjoyed for what I do for, Digi-awards.
And I'm wondering, what did, YOU guys do for Digi-awards?

PEACE!

Tech

Hello everybody, welcome back to my blog and today, I am going to share on what I am doing for Tech, every Monday. Now, sit back, relax and enjoy!

When we go to Tech: Now, as you read from above, Tech is every Monday, we go during lunch at about 1:40 or something like that. We catch a bus (From a lovely bus driver) and head off to Linwood College (Where Tech is held at) we then line up on the court, on our number (We are in groups for Tech, we line up at number 17) And then we head off, to resume what we were doing. We also get teachers to help us through the process (Obviously) my teacher is called: Mr. Osborn. He's really nice.

My first day at Tech, we had to make a die. (The other groups made different things: Wood and food) First, we got handed a sheet, it was basically a circle the right answer you think it is. Then we got handed a plastic cube. (Our die) We had a sheet to mark where to put our circles on it. We then: drilled the holes, sanded the cube, polish it, and then paint it. And that was it (I made it for my grandparents if they ever lost theirs) when the day is nearly over, we go back on the bus, back to school, then to home.

The next day we did the same thing, trying to finish our project.

Second thing I made: The die was obviously not the only thing we made, our other project was... A KEY CHAIN, yes a key chain to make for someone/something (I did it for my dog) In order to do this, you need to: search up an image of the thing you are making in silhouette (Example: Search up Cat silhouette) copy the image, paste it on this doc thing (I forgot what it was, sorry) Outline the image, delete the filled in image, create two outlines of the thing you are making, put a square over it, put the square connected to it, so if you move the cat the square will come with it, save it on the folder: St Francis A7, and then Mr. Osborn will print it on the vinyl cutter.

That was a long one, but we still have more to go.

Then you have to grab this pen with a little drill in it, cut the inside off, then stick it on a piece of plastic that you get, you then, sand blast it, polish it. THEN YOUR DONE!

FINALLY! WOO! That took ages. But it was really fun, creating new things, trying out new things, it was EPIC!

But, when we finish our project, we have to make a phone stand, which I haven't started...

What do YOU guys do for YOUR Tech...?

I hope you guys enjoyed this REALLY long post, on what I did for Tech. I will be seeing you next time!!
